All Anganwadi Workers In Odisha Trained On Poshan Tracker Modules

Bhubaneswar: All 73,543 Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) in Odisha have undergone training on various modules of the Poshan Tracker portal, Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development Savitri Thakur informed the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.

In a written reply to a question by BJD Rajya Sabha MP Sulata Deo, Thakur said that, according to information provided by the Digital India Corporation (DIC), all 73,543 Anganwadi Workers in the state have been trained on the Poshan Tracker modules.

Poshan Tracker is an Information and Communication Technology (ICT)-based e-governance tool under Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0. The mobile application enables Anganwadi Workers to digitally maintain beneficiary records, monitor nutrition and Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) services, record child growth and use real-time data to improve service delivery.

The minister said the DIC, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, conducts training programmes for Anganwadi Workers on different Poshan Tracker modules through district- and block-level coordinators.

Besides these training sessions, the DIC team conducts regular video-conferencing programmes from Monday to Friday between 3 pm and 4 pm. These sessions are designed to strengthen the digital skills of Anganwadi Workers and address operational issues related to the Poshan Tracker portal and mobile application.

The Odisha government also conducts a 32-day job-course training programme for Anganwadi Workers under the state-sector scheme, “State Support to ICDS Training.” The programme includes a six-hour digital literacy session covering platforms and tools such as AWESOME, e-Manadeya, Tathya, the Engagement Portal and the use of Artificial Intelligence in day-to-day management.

The training initiative is aimed at improving the digital capabilities of Anganwadi Workers and enabling them to make more effective use of technology in the delivery and monitoring of nutrition, childcare and early education services across the state.
