Bhubaneswar: An entrance examination was conducted today for admission to Class XI at the Iconic Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya, Andharua, Bhubaneswar, an English-medium school of the Government of Odisha affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The examination was held for 500 available seats.
More than 1,500 meritorious students from various Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas, who had performed well in the Class X Board examination, appeared for the entrance test with enthusiasm. The examination was conducted at two centres established at Iconic Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya, Andharua, Bhubaneswar, and Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya, Shialia, in Khordha district.
With modern infrastructure, centrally air-conditioned classrooms, a highly qualified teaching faculty, specialised coaching for national-level competitive examinations, well-equipped hostels and quality food facilities, the Iconic Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya has emerged as a preferred educational institution for meritorious students. The school provides education along with food, uniforms, accommodation and other essential facilities free of cost, enabling talented students, particularly those from rural areas, to access quality education.
The impact of these facilities is reflected in the academic achievements of its students. This year, more than 40 students have qualified for admission to government medical colleges, while 144 students qualified in JEE Main and 22 students qualified in JEE Advanced, besides their outstanding performance in the Class XII Board examinations.
The entrance examination is aimed at providing meritorious students from Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas across the State an opportunity to pursue higher secondary education in a quality, competitive and supportive academic environment.
