Bhubaneswar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Bhubaneswar today. Shah was received at the Biju Patnaik Airport by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Education Misnister Dharmendra Pradhan, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida and state BJP president Manmohan Samal among other leaders.
Shah, who came in a special Air Force plane, will attend various functions in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and Paradip. He will also participate in the 57th Raising Day celebration of CISF in Mundali.
In the afternoon, he will perform the bhumi pujan (groundbreaking ceremony) for the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) in Khurda and the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) Bhubaneswar campus. Besides, he will virtually inaugurate the NFSU Transit Campus in Bhubaneswar.
Shah will also inaugurate an exhibition on the new criminal laws (Nyaya Sanhita) and lay foundation stones/inaugurate projects at the IDCO Exhibition Ground, Bhubaneswar.
The Police Commissionerate of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack has issued a traffic advisory for Shah’s visit, and the Godisahi-Munduli Road is being beautified for the event.
Taking to his X handle, CM Majhi wrote: “Honourable Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri @AmitShah ji was welcomed with the sacred soil of Odisha at Biju Patnaik International Airport. During his visit, he will participate in various programs along with laying the foundation stone and inaugurating several people-oriented projects worth approximately Rs 3,300 crore. Through the coordination and cooperation between the Central and State Governments, Odisha’s development journey will be further accelerated.”
