Bhubaneswar: In a significant action against corruption, Odisha Vigilance arrested Forest Range Officer Rajendra Kumar Samantray of Rahama Forest Range, Jagatsinghpur district, for possessing disproportionate assets (DA). The officer was found with a palatial multi-storeyed building, a double-storeyed building, five valuable plots, cash of Rs. 3.69 lakh, 250 grams of gold, and bank deposits totaling Rs. 80.68 lakh, which he could not satisfactorily explain.
According to an official press release, Samantray will be produced today before the Court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack, in connection with the possession of these assets.
The vigilance team conducted extensive searches at Samantray’s properties in Jagatsinghpur, leading to the discovery of the disproportionate assets.
In response to these findings, Cuttack Vigilance Police Station has registered Case No. 37/2025 against him under the Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act.
The investigation is ongoing.
