Bhubaneswar: An auto-rickshaw driver was attacked and brutally killed by a group of armed men in Sarsara village under Sadar police limits in Odisha’s Bargarh district on Monday morning. As the murder happened during the polls in the region, it has created a stir in the entire district.

The deceased has been identified as Biswanath Mirdha.

According to reports, while polling was underway at a booth in the Government Primary School in Sarsara village, a group of people armed with sharp weapons terrorised the voters. Biswanath, who was taking the voters to the polling station in his auto-rickshaw, opposed the miscreants and was brutally beaten up. One of them attacked the auto-rickshaw driver with a bhujali injuring him critically.
