Bargarh: The Bargarh Town Police Station on Monday busted a sex racket operating near Dang Chhak on the Pipilipali village road under Bargarh district. Police arrested five persons in connection with the case and rescued two victims from the spot.
The accused have been identified as Dhruba Charan Meher (50) of the Dunguripali area in Subarnapur district, Teja Behera (57) of Sayan village, Baladev Sahu (35) of Banbaspali village, Saroj Sahu (45) of Jatla, and Banita Behera (38) of Sayan village in Bargarh district.
Acting on credible information, the Town Police Station IIC, along with staff, conducted a raid in the area and apprehended the accused. During the operation, police seized five mobile phones, cash, one car, four scooters, and one motorcycle from the possession of the accused.
The rescued victims were taken into protective custody, and necessary legal procedures are being followed, police said.
Further investigation is underway.
