Bhubaneswar: A youth was critically injured after being attacked by a bear in the Barsuan forest range, falling under the limits of Koira police station in Sundargarh district on Tuesday.
The youth has been identified as Padu from Tinta village.
According to sources; Padu was on his way back home after collecting firewood, when he was attacked by a ferocious wild bear.
The brutal attack left Padu critically injured, causing him to lose consciousness.
A cowman, while grazing his cattle in the region, found Padu lying on the ground in critical condition.
He promptly informed Padu’s family members about the incident.
Padu was immediately admitted to the Koira Community Health Centre for initial treatment. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to the Rourkela government hospital.
