Bhubaneswar: Former Satyabadi MLA Ramaranjan Baliarsingh on Thursday resigned from the primary membership of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after being betrayed by the saffron party.

He has sent his resignation letter to the BJP president of Odisha unit Manmohan Samal.

In his letter, he mentioned that the party betrayed him and also the people of Satyabadi time and again. Continuous neglect and betrayal by the saffron party prompted him to take this decision.

It is important to note that Baliarsingh had contested polls as an independent candidate from the Satyabadi assembly segment in 2004 and was elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly.

In 2018, he had joined BJD. In the same year,  he joined the saffron party quitting the regional party.
