Bhubaneswar: The capital city Bhubaneswar and Sambalpur in western Odisha were the hottest places in Odisha on Thursday morning with each recording 39.2°C at 11:30 am.
The Official Twitter of the regional India Meteorological Department (IMD) here said the residents of Jharsuguda, however, received slight relief from the heat wave as the district recorded 38.4°C today at 11.30 am.
However, the IMD has warned that heat wave conditions will prevail across the state for five more days. Due to the heat wave, the maximum day temperature might rise above 42°C in most parts of western Odisha while the temperature in coastal areas of the state will remain above 40°C.
The IMD has predicted that there will be no major changes in temperature during the next three days.
