Bhubaneswar: Senior Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS) officer Bijaya Kumar Mishra assumed charge as the Additional General Manager (AGM) of East Coast Railway (ECoR) on Tuesday.
A 1991-batch IRAS officer, Mishra has over 35 years of experience in railway finance, project management, train operations and administration. Throughout his career in Indian Railways, he has held several key positions and handled a wide range of operational and financial responsibilities.
Mishra will continue to serve as the Principal Financial Adviser (PFA) of East Coast Railway while discharging his new responsibilities as AGM. As PFA, he oversees the Accounts, Finance, Budget and Internal Audit departments of ECoR, one of the highest revenue-earning zones of Indian Railways.
Earlier, he served as the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of the Tinsukia Division under Northeast Frontier Railway, where he managed one of the railway network’s most challenging divisions. During his deputation, he also headed Project Finance for IRCON International Limited in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, supervising major international infrastructure projects.
Academically, Mishra holds a postgraduate degree in Applied Geology from IIT (ISM), Dhanbad, and a Master of Public Policy from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. He has also undergone specialised training in Financial Management at the European School of Business in London and Paris, besides receiving advanced training in Heavy Haul Railway Technology at Beijing Jiaotong University, China.
Railway officials expressed confidence that Mishra’s extensive experience in finance, railway operations, infrastructure development and administration will further strengthen the operational efficiency and administrative capabilities of East Coast Railway.
