Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Friday busted a gang involved in two-wheeler thefts and arrested six members of the gang and two persons buying the stolen bikes. The Badagada police in Bhubaneswar also recovered 31 stolen two-wheelers from their possession.
According to the Commissionerate Police, members of this notorious gang used to steal bikes from various sensitive places in Bhubaneswar, such as hospitals, markets, schools, courts, sub-registrar offices and others.
The main accused and leader of the gang, Krishna Kandi, also engaged in car thefts. Numerous complaints are lodged against him at various police stations in the Odisha capital.
The accused were lifting two-wheelers using master keys and sold them at half prices. The gang was busted after the police tracked the CCTV footage of various places from where the motorbikes were stolen.
