BJD Accuses BJP Of Using ECI Against Bureaucrats In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accusing it of using the Election Commission against the bureaucrats in Odisha.

At a press meet, BJD Rajya Sabha MPs Sasmit Patra and Manas Mangraj lashed out at the saffron party for targeting the officers out of desperation.

Mangaraj said that the BJD achieved majority by the end of the third phase election in Odisha, which led to the desperation of BJP.

“People of Odisha never tolerate arrogance. So they made Naveen Patnaik Chief Minister five times. Naveen will be the Chief Minister for the sixth time as well. The action against two officers has raised questions on the ECI’s impartiality. The ECI has taken a unilateral decision without any evidence. We strongly condemn this. There is no trust on the ECI,” he said..

People know everything and they will give a fitting reply at the right time, he added.

“We have filed hundreds of petitions against BJP. But no action has been taken by ECI,” Mangaraj lamented.

The MP dared the BJP to contest against BJD directly.

He alleged that BJP leaders are using filthy language while targeting the chief minister. The people of Odisha will never tolerate this. People’s reply will come out on June 4, .

Mangaraj’s party colleague MP Sasmit Patra said that BJP got success through ECI, which proves that the saffron party is using the poll body to do dirty politics. BJP is fighting against IAS, IPS officers because the party doesn’t have the courage to fight against BJD, Patra pointed out.

The BJD had also complained about the OSD campaigning for Dharmendra Pradhan in the election. But, the commission did not take any action.  ECI is being used by BJP, he alleged.

The saffron party is fighting against the officers in the backdoor, Patra added.
