Bhubaneswar: In a major structural change to the party, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) dissolved all its state-level office bearers on Sunday.
“All State Level Office Bearers of Biju Janata Dal are hereby dissolved with immediate effect. The new State Level Office Bearers will be appointed soon. The district level Biju Janata Dal Office Bearers will continue to hold their office,” read an official notification signed by Naveen Patnaik, President, BJD.
After the removal of the existing office bearers, the party appointed five new national spokespersons, including Dr Santrupt Misra, Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, Dr Amar Patnaik, Dr Sasmit Patra, and Pradeep Kumar Majhi, as per an official order.
Dr Santrupt Misra is now appointed as Political Secretary to Naveen Patnaik.
The BJD has appointed Sukanta Kumar Panda as Public Relations Officer (PRO) to the Leader of the Opposition, and President of BJD, Naveen Patnaik.
Similarly, fourteen new state-level spokespersons were appointed by the party.
According to the official notification, the appointees include Prasanna Acharya, Pramila Mallik, Debi Prasad Mishra, Pratap Keshati Deb, Dr Arun Kumar Sahoo, Capt. Dibya Shankar Mishra, Devi Ranjan Mishra, Shrimayee Sweta Snigdha Mishra, Lekhashree Samantsinghar, Sudam Marndi, Sulata Deo, Ramesh Chandra Majhi, Bhrugu Baxipatra, and Lenin Mohanty.
The party also changed its existing panel of media coordinators, appointing Pratap Jena as Senior State Media Coordinator, Swayam Prakash as Social Media Coordinator, Dr. Lenin Mohanty, and Dr. Priyabrata Majhi as Media Coordinators.
