Ganjam: BJP leader Srinibas Bhanj was critically injured after two unidentified miscreants attacked him on College Square under Kotinda police limits on Wednesday night.
According to reports, the incident occurred while he was returning home from Sutakal Street. Two bike-borne miscreants attacked Bhanj with iron rods, taking advantage of the darkness. Hearing his screams, locals rescued him and admitted him to Aska sub-district hospital.
As Bhanj’s condition deteriorated, he was shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur. Srinivas alleged that the attack was a result of political enmity.
Srinibas, a resident of College Street, is the president of Bharatiya Janata Party’s Ghumsar district Yuva Morcha.
While the Kotinda police are investigating the incident, no one has been arrested in this connection so far.
