Bhubaneswar: A teacher of Dahya Government Nodal High School was suspended for participating in an election rally taken out by a political party in Boudh district.
The Boudh Collector and District Election Officer found her guilty and took the disciplinary action against assistant teacher Sanghamitra Mallick and placed her under suspension with immediate effect.
Mallick is alleged to have violated the model code of conduct issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Going by the ECI order dated March 15, 2024, and Odisha Government Servant’s Conduct Rules, 1959, no government servant shall be a member of or be otherwise associated with any political or communal party or any organisation which takes part in politics or communal activities, nor shall he/she take part or subscribe in aid of assist in any other manner, any political or communal movement or activity.
As per the information, Sanghamitra had reportedly participated in a political rally carried out by a political party between Palaspat and Ambagaon in Kantamal Assembly Constituency in Boudh district two days ago. She participated in the election rally violating the guidelines set by the ECI for the upcoming elections.
