Koraput: The Border Security Force (BSF) organised a blood donation camp at its Sector Headquarters in Koraput on Saturday on the occasion of International Blood Donor Day, with 92 units of blood collected during the drive held in collaboration with the Odisha State AIDS Control Society (OSACS).
The camp was inaugurated by Commandant Naorem Gopinath Singh of the 180 Battalion, BSF. The programme was conducted under the leadership of M.S. Baliarsingh (BCO), while a medical team from SLN Medical College & Hospital, Koraput, ensured smooth conduct of the donation process.
BSF officers, subordinate officers, personnel and their family members participated enthusiastically in the initiative. A total of 92 donors came forward voluntarily, contributing 92 units of blood and reflecting a strong sense of social responsibility and humanitarian service.
The initiative was part of the series of welfare activities being organised under the Border Security Force Diamond Jubilee celebrations (1965–2025). Participants highlighted the spirit of “service before self” through their active involvement in the life-saving drive.
Senior BSF officers present on the occasion emphasised the importance of regular blood donation and encouraged both personnel and civilians to take part in such initiatives to support healthcare systems and emergency medical requirements.
The camp concluded successfully, with OSACS expressing gratitude to all donors, medical staff and BSF personnel for their cooperation and contribution towards the success of the programme.
