Bhubaneswar: A 35-year-old man was found hanging at his house in Sri Ram Vihar of Burla town in Sambalpur district on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Rahul Sharma (35), who was living with his family in the locality.
According to reports, the incident occurred late Friday night. Rahul reportedly used a bedsheet to hang himself from a ceiling fan. Family members, upon discovering the situation, immediately rushed him to the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR). However, doctors declared him brought dead.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Rahul had allegedly sent suicide note messages to some of his friends via WhatsApp before taking the extreme step.
He is survived by his wife and a two-and-a-half-year-old son.
On being informed, police reached the spot, seized the body, and sent it for postmortem.
A case of unnatural death has been registered and further investigation is underway.
