Sundaragada: At least 15 passengers were injured after a bus overturned near Madhupur (Chilbans) under Gurundia police station limits in Sundaragada district on Friday morning.
The bus, named Hansika, was travelling from Jharsuguda to Banaigada when the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn near Chilbans at around 11 am, according to reports.
More than 40 passengers were reportedly travelling on the bus at the time of the accident.
Following the incident, local residents, along with personnel from Gurundia police station and the Fire Services, rushed to the spot, rescued the injured passengers and shifted them to Gurundia hospital for treatment.
Police have initiated an investigation into the accident.
