Bhubaneswar: A criminal case has been registered against suspended Inspector-in-Charge Sandhyarani Jena of Talachua Marine Police Station in Kendrapara district for allegedly assaulting a woman and her son in police custody.
The case was filed on Monday at Talachua Marine Police Station itself, marking a major development in the high-profile custodial assault controversy.
The action comes just days after the Director General of Police ordered her suspension. The suspended officer has been booked under several serious sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The incident has drawn significant attention, with allegations that the officer physically assaulted the mother-son duo while they were in custody.
