Bhadrak: A shocking case of abduction has come to light in Bhadrak after a CCTV footage of the incident went viral. The video shows a truck driver forcibly abducting a mentally unstable woman during heavy rainfall late on Wednesday night.
The incident occurred around 12:50 AM near the Charampa Reserve Police Line under Bhadrak Town police station limits, along National Highway 16.
According to reports, the woman had taken shelter under the veranda of a roadside shop to escape the rain when a truck stopped nearby.
The driver got down from the vehicle, approached the woman, and forcibly took her into the truck before speeding away to an unknown destination. The entire sequence was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the area.
The video has triggered widespread concern among locals, prompting swift action from the police.
Bhadrak Town police have launched a search operation across multiple locations to trace the truck and rescue the victim.
Police said the matter is being investigated with utmost seriousness, and efforts are on to identify the accused driver.
