Bhubaneswar: Students who cleared the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) Odisha Plus Two annual examinations but are dissatisfied with their marks in specific subjects will now have a fresh opportunity to improve their performance.
CHSE authorities announced on Wednesday that eligible candidates can appear for a special improvement examination in one subject only. The move aims to provide academic relief without forcing students to lose an entire academic year.
According to officials, the improvement test is scheduled to be held during the first week of July. Both regular and ex-regular students who have successfully passed the annual exams will be allowed to participate.
“This initiative has been introduced to help students enhance their academic performance,” a CHSE official stated. The facility is expected to benefit thousands of students seeking better results for higher education admissions or career opportunities.
In a related development, the Council has also tightened academic requirements starting from the 2025-26 academic session. From next year onward, students must register for all subjects and secure passing marks in every subject to meet the qualifying criteria. The new regulation seeks to raise overall academic standards and bring greater uniformity in the examination system.
