Class III Student Suffers Severe Burns

Kendrapara: A Class III student sustained severe burn injuries after he accidentally fell into a vessel of (peja) hot rice water on school premises.

The incident took place at Bahakandia Ananta Narayan Government Upper Primary School on Thursday.

According to sources, the student accidentally fell into the vessel containing hot rice water which was kept by the cooks assigned for making mid-day meal.

The student was rescued from the vessel and immediately rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital in critical condition. His condition is stated to be critical, said doctors.

Meanwhile, villagers held teachers and cooks responsible for the incident.
