Baragada: A Class VIII student was killed after being hit by a private bus near the private bus stand in Baragada district on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Ronak Jha (14), a resident of Subhash Nagar in Baragada. He was a Class VIII student of Hindi High School in the district.
According to reports, Ronak was on his way to school on his bicycle when the private bus hit him near the bus stand. He sustained critical injuries in the accident and was reportedly declared dead at the spot.
The incident triggered tension in the area, with local residents gathering at the spot and expressing anger over the accident. They demanded steps to prevent such mishaps in the area.
