Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated the ‘Mukhya Mantri Sabha Gruha’ programme in western Odisha. Under this plan, the construction of about 2000 Kalyan Mandaps and local assembly halls in western Odisha will be taken up. Rs 25 crore will be spent for this project. The Chief Minister said that this will make the social and cultural life of the people of western Odisha more active.
This program is being done under 5T initiative, and the CM hoped that all these infrastructure works will be completed on time and its quality will be very good. Along with this, the Chief Minister has inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of many projects with an investment of Rs 33.58 crore.
Naveen said that he has always paid special attention to the development of western Odisha. The Western Odisha Development Council’s budget has doubled and its programs have also been enhanced.
He advised the Development Council to take up the development program after discussing with the public representatives. The Chief Minister opined that Western Odisha Development Council has played a major role in the development of the region.
The role of this region is important for the development of Odisha, he said.
The CM added that western Odisha is rich in agriculture, industry, mining, education and art and culture. For the development of tourism, the transformation work of Maa Samaleswari, Harishankar and Narasingnath temples is going on.
All the work is being supervised through the Chief Minister’s office. He said that western Odisha has quickly created a unique identity in all areas of development.
In this program held through video conferencing, Water Resources Minister Tukuni Sahu in Titilagarh, Handicrafts, Weaving and Handicrafts Minister Rita Sahu in Bargarh, Planning and Coordination Minister in Deogarh Rajendra Prasad Dholakia attended and praised the Chief Minister’s vision.
They opined that the development of western Odisha is progressing with all the programs starting and ending on time under 5T initiatives. In the meeting, Chairman of West Odisha Development Council Asit Tripathi gave the introductory information and its CEO Ajit Mishra gave vote of thanks.
Among the projects inaugurated are: Gadiajora Bridge, Titilagarh Town Hall, Bargarh Eco-Tourism infrastructure, Deogarh College Auditorium, Kalahandi Brajamohan High School Hostel, Gangadhar Meher University Auditorium and Kuchinda College Auditorium.
Foundation stones of the following projects were laid: Bargarh Jandol village community hall, Baromunda Kalagram, Katabahal tourism centre, and renovation and replenishment of several water bodies in Kalahandi district and multi-purpose hall at Kesiabahal in Sambalpur.
