Youth Shot Dead In Jajpur Town; Scientific Team Begins Probe At Crime Scene

Jajpur: A young man was shot dead in a firing incident in Jajpur town late last night. The incident occurred near Kalimegha area in Jajpur town.

The victim has been identified as Soumya Ranjan Samal, a resident of the Kuansarpur area.

According to reports, he sustained critical bullet injuries and was initially rushed to Jajpur District Headquarters Hospital. Later, he was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for better treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at SCB last night.

The assailants reportedly fired at the youth and managed to flee from the spot. The exact motive behind the shooting and the identity of the shooter remain unknown so far.

Jajpur police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. A scientific team visited the crime scene this morning and has begun a thorough forensic examination of the spot.

Police are working to ascertain who was behind the shooting and the reason for the attack. The investigation is ongoing. This incident has created tension in the area, and police have intensified patrolling to maintain law and order.
