Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed deep grief and shock over the gruesome murder of senior lawyer and BJP leader Pitabas Panda in Berhampur. Majhi condoled the bereaved family and assured that the culprits would be arrested soon, facing exemplary action.
Strongly condemning the incident, Majhi directed the police to apprehend those involved and ensure justice. “Odisha is a peaceful state, and such heinous incidents won’t be tolerated under any circumstances,” he said.
Panda was shot dead by bike-borne assailants near his residence on Monday evening. The senior lawyer had attended programmes before returning home and was rushed to MKCG Medical College and Hospital, where he was declared dead.
