Innovators Making An Impact
Bodhisattwa Sanghapriya and Om Prakash are co-founders of IG Drones, a Noida-based startup that has developed four drone models designed for mapping, surveillance, and agricultural spraying. The company’s flagship product, ‘JAGA’, is a 5G-enabled surveillance drone that enhances communication and data transmission. IG Drones raised $1 million in seed funding last year from a group of investors led by India Accelerator. Its clientele includes government agencies, universities, and private enterprises.
Anil Pradhan and Vaishali Sharma, co-founders of the Young Tinker Foundation, are working to ignite scientific curiosity among students in rural India. The foundation distributes STEM learning kits to schools and community centres, and operates ‘Tinker on Wheels’—a mobile STEM workshop that has reached over 50 schools. Notably, the foundation sent a team to the 2023 NASA Rover Challenge, where the students won a social media award in the high school division.
Apurwa Masook, founder of Bangalore-based SpaceFields, has been recognised for his work in developing next-generation fuel systems and propulsion technologies for space missions, commercial aviation, and defence applications. Founded in 2021, the company has raised $1.4 million in funding, including an $800,000 seed round from investors such as HVB 88 Angels and O2 Angels Network.
The recognition of these young entrepreneurs in a prestigious global list underscores the growing talent pool in Odisha and highlights the state’s rising presence in innovation-driven sectors.
