Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday said over 46,000 eligible youths have been provided government appointments in the state since June 2024, as he handed over appointment letters to 1,101 newly recruited candidates at the 17th State-Level Nijukti Mela here.
The newly appointed candidates are from the Health, Revenue, Finance and Cooperation departments.
Majhi said filling vacant government posts with priority to transparency, impartiality and merit has been a key resolve of his government.
“Since June 2024 until today, more than 46,000 eligible young men and women of the state have been provided government appointments,” he said in a post on X.
On the occasion, a special age-based guideline booklet on protecting the mental health of children and students, covering the pre-primary level to the youth category, was also unveiled. The CM said the initiative would help in building a healthy and capable generation.
Congratulating the newly appointed employees and their families, Majhi said a government job was not merely a profession but a responsibility to serve the people selflessly.
He reiterated the government’s “Zero Tolerance” policy against corruption and urged the newly appointed personnel to accord priority to grievance redressal at the grassroots level.
Calling upon them to treat the people of Odisha as their own family, the chief minister said transparency, dedication and commitment would help realise the goals of “Samruddha Odisha 2036” and “Viksit India 2047”.
