Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today inaugurated the newly constructed office of the Bhubaneswar Urban Police Deputy Commissioner (DCP).
According to an official press release, it is noteworthy that this four-story office building, spanning an area of 2,272 square meters, was constructed at a cost of ₹7.80 crore.
During the inauguration, the Chief Minister stated that the new building will facilitate the delivery of excellent services to the public.
The facility includes provisions such as a ramp for differently-abled individuals, a cyber cell, a CCTNS room, an integrated control room, a legal cell, and a passport section. Additionally, it features a conference hall and a training hall.
He emphasized that the new building will enhance the efficiency of police administration, ensuring timely services to the public.
The Chief Minister further noted that in March of the previous year, 14 new police stations were inaugurated across various districts of the state at a cost of ₹42 crore. He highlighted that the Odisha Police operate impartially and without bias, taking lawful action as needed. Over the past year, the law-and-order situation in the state has been satisfactory, and the Central Government has expressed its appreciation for this achievement.
To make investigating officers at every police station more proactive, additional two-wheeler vehicles have been provided. As part of this initiative, the Chief Minister distributed 425 two-wheeler vehicles to investigating officers under the Commissionerate Police.
He also mentioned that arrangements have been made to provide more four-wheeler vehicles to police stations. Furthermore, he assured that support will be provided for the use of technology in the investigation of criminal cases.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Ekamra Bhubaneswar MLA Babu Singh, Bhubaneswar Central MLA Anant Narayan Jena, Bhubaneswar North MLA Sushant Kumar Rout, Mayor Sulochana Das, Chief Minister’s Advisor Prakash Mishra, Director General of Police Y.B. Khurania, Police Commissioner Suresh Devdutt Singh, Additional Police Commissioner Narasingh Bhol, DCP Bhubaneswar Jagmohan Meena, and other senior police officials.
