Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday said the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the Rs 8,300 crore Coastal Highway from Rameshwar to Paradeep.
In a post on X, the Chief Minister said the project marks a new chapter in Odisha’s infrastructure development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The proposed highway will span key coastal districts. It is expected to strengthen connectivity and reduce travel time by nearly two and a half hours.
CM Majhi said the project will create new opportunities for tourism, trade, logistics and economic growth. He added that the Coastal Highway will accelerate the transformation of Odisha’s coastal economy and improve the quality of life for millions.
The Chief Minister said the approval reflects the Government of India’s continued commitment to building world-class infrastructure in Odisha. On behalf of the people of Odisha, CM Majhi expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for their support towards the State’s development.
