CM Naveen Attends Foundation Laying Ceremony Of Centre For Judicial Archives

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today attended the foundation laying ceremony of the Centre for Judicial Archives at Cuttack.

The Chief Minister thanked the Orissa High Court for this unique initiative.

Patnaik appreciated the efforts of Chief Justice of Orissa High Court Dr S Muralidhar and team in realization of this unique project.

He said that an archive is not only collection of documentary heritage of a nation, but also collective memory of institution, and a passive witness of its history.

The Chief Minister commended Orissa High Court for its initiative to preserve judicial history and promote judicial heritage.

Mentioning that the centre will be immensely beneficial to historians & legal luminaries, Patnaik said access to scholars and public will stimulate academic activities.

Research works and publication of academic journals will enhance awareness on Odisha’s judicial heritage, he added.

He stated that Odisha Government is always keen to support and strengthen the judicial and legal infrastructure in the State.

The State Government has allotted land for the centre, and will continue to provide all kinds of support for any such initiative, he added.
