Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday announced an increase in the pension for construction workers in Odisha.
According to an official release from the Chief Minister’s office (CMO), the pension of the workers who are registered with the Odisha Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board, has been increased.
All construction workers registered with the board and are above the age of 60 will now receive a monthly pension of Rs 1,000 instead of the present Rs 500. Likewise, the pension of labourers who are 80 years and above will now receive a monthly pension of Rs 1,000 instead of Rs 700.
The increase in their monthly pension will come into effect from February 2024.
