Coal India’s 2nd HR/IR Conclave Hosted By MCL Concludes In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The 2nd HR/IR Conclave 2025 of Coal India Limited, hosted by Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), concluded on Saturday in Bhubaneswar.

The two-day event has brought together Directors (HR) and senior HR professionals from across Coal India and its subsidiaries to engage in dialogue on evolving human resource strategies, industrial harmony and workplace transformation.

 The Conclave, inaugurated virtually by P M Prasad, Chairman, Coal India Limited, witnessed more than hundreds of delegates.

In his address, he appreciated the initiative to unite HR leadership under one forum, and highlighted Coal India’s remarkable growth journey. He emphasised the need to further improve welfare of employees and workplace infrastructure as part of the company’s inclusive development agenda.

Prasad also commended role of HR professionals in Coal India and contributions of company in bringing in positive change in the life of people, preferably in remote operational areas, under CSR.

Dr. Vinay Ranjan, Director (HR), Coal India, delivered the keynote address, wherein he underlined the importance of building camaraderie within the HR community, sharing best practices across subsidiaries and strengthening employee welfare through pro-worker policies. He also stressed the role of continuous learning and training in shaping future-ready HR frameworks.

Earlier, Keshav Rao, Director (HR), MCL, delivered the welcome address. He expressed pride in Coal India’s legacy of maintaining harmonious industrial relations and welcomed delegates to Odisha. He encouraged participants to take time to explore the state’s rich cultural heritage and historic sites.

Over the next two days, the conclave will feature expert sessions by eminent academicians and industry thought leaders, offering insights into leadership, digital transformation and inclusive workforce strategies.

The Conclave is aimed at reinforcing Coal India’s commitment to a progressive and people-centric HR ecosystem.
