Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police arrested two accused in connection with the much-hyped Nabaghan Pattasani aka Banka murder case after 15 days.
According to reports, the body of Banka was recovered from a river in Govindpur on July 20. Banka had been missing since July 17, and his family had filed a written complaint with the Khandagiri police.
Meanwhile, the Govindpur police had registered a case of unnatural death and buried the unidentified body.
Later, on July 30, family members of Banka showed the police a photo of the deceased, which led to the identification of Banka’s body. The Govindpur police then exhumed the body in the presence of family members.
Sources said Banka was killed in a hotel room before being thrown in the waterbody. Police also seized the car used for carrying Banka’s body from the hotel room to the waterbody. The main accused Bunti killed Banka over money dispute. Bunti and the car driver have been arrested following a thorough probe. The accused will be brought on police remand soon for interrogation.
