Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police, Bhubaneswar- Kataka, has deployed PCR (Police Control Room) vehicles at Biju Patnaik International Airport to assist passengers requiring immediate transportation to hospitals amid the ongoing Ola and Uber strike.
With app-based cab services affected by the strike, the police have made PCR vehicles stationed at the airport available to ferry passengers to hospitals in case of medical emergencies.
The move is aimed at ensuring that passengers do not face difficulties in accessing timely medical care at a time when the disruption of cab services could affect transportation from the airport.
In a post on X, the Commissionerate Police said it was committed to serving the public and assisting passengers who require transportation to a hospital during a medical emergency.
“Due to the ongoing strike of Ola and Uber, the Police Commissionerate, Bhubaneswar- Kataka, is determined to serve the people and drop passengers from the airport to a hospital in case of a medical emergency,” the police said.
Passengers requiring immediate medical assistance have been advised to approach the PCR vehicles stationed at the airport and seek help for transportation to a hospital.
The initiative is particularly aimed at ensuring that passengers facing medical emergencies are not left stranded due to the unavailability or disruption of app-based cab services.
The Commissionerate Police said the arrangement reflects its commitment to public service and passenger safety, reiterating its message: “We are with you. Always, Every time, Everywhere.”
