Cuttack: Trouble seems to be mounting for Ollywood playback singer Sourin Bhatt with the Commissionerate Police initiating the process to arrest him.
The Orissa High Court on Wednesday rejected the anticipatory bail plea of the singer in a sexual harassment case. The court also vacated the interim protection granted by it to Bhatt on August 1.
“The High Court has rejected his bail plea and has also vacated the interim protection granted to him. We have received the court’s order today. We will again constitute a team and try to arrest him. After finding out where he is staying currently our team will proceed,” informed Amitav Mohapatra, ACP Zone-II speaking to reporters here today.
Mohapatra said that they would be locating Bhatt’s whereabouts collect information about him and proceed for his arrest since there are no restrictions now.
It is pertinent to mention here that a case was registered against Bhatt on the basis of a complaint lodged by a woman, a resident of Cuttack City who works in a private bank, at Mahila police station here on June 12.
The woman had accused Bhatt of sexually harassing her with false promises of marriage.
She had alleged that she was cheated, tortured and exploited by the vocalist. Further, she had also alleged that the singer had taken Rs 10 lakh from her.
