Bhubaneswar: Mangalpur police detained a constable of Rambag outpost for allegedly harassing and assaulting a nurse residing under the police limits in Jajpur district on Sunday night.
The accused constable has been identified as Jitendra Biswal, a resident of Garadhia village under Sasua panchayat.
According to reports, Biswal had been making unwanted advances towards nurse Puspanjali Nayak for over a year, despite her rejection.
On Sunday night, Biswal barged into Nayak’s home and proposed to her again. When she declined, he allegedly assaulted and molested her.
Nayak filed a complaint which led to Biswal’s detention.
