Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has issued a public appeal for wholehearted cooperation in the first phase of the Census 2027, which includes House Listing and Housing Census 2026.
In his message, the Chief Minister said, “The first phase of the census exercise has begun in Odisha through a coordinated effort between the Census Directorate under the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Odisha Government’s Revenue and Disaster Management Department. The door-to-door Houselisting and Housing Census will commence across all 30 districts of Odisha from April 16, 2026, and continue till May 15, 2026. Trained enumerators and supervisors will visit every household during this period to collect essential data. Prior to the field survey, a Self-Enumeration window was open from April 1 to April 15, 2026 (midnight), allowing people to submit their details online through the official portal: https://se.census.gov.in.”
Highlighting his personal participation, CM Majhi said: “I have already completed my self-enumeration. I urge all of you who have not yet done so to visit the portal and submit your information at the earliest. Your cooperation is vital for the success of this national exercise.”
The Chief Minister stressed that the data collected during this census will play a crucial role in future planning and development of the state as well as the country. He appealed to the people of Odisha to extend full support by providing accurate information when enumerators visit their homes.
“The Odisha Government has made all necessary preparations for the smooth conduct of this important national task. I earnestly request everyone to contribute sincerely so that this nationwide census becomes a grand success,” he added.
