Counterfeit Liquor Racket Busted In Balasore, One Arrested

Balasore: In a significant crackdown on the manufacturing of counterfeit liquor, the Excise department officers on Monday night, arrested one man from Nilakanthapur village in Bahanaga block of Balasore district.

The satellite unit of Jaleswar excise officials has arrested one Subash Nayak and seized equipment used for manufacturing duplicate liquor which was found at his residence.

The raid was carried out by the Inspector-in-Charge of Jaleswar Excise Station, Lokheye Sadhaba Pradhan, Satya Sundar Mallik, OIC of Gopalpur Excise Station, along with a team of 10 other officials.

According to reports, the accused, Subash Nayak, was manufacturing duplicate liquor for Sumanta Nayak, who runs a foreign liquor shop in Anantapur, Balasore. The accused admitted that Sumanta provided all the necessary materials for the manufacturing process.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
