Bhubaneswar: The stage is set – 25 more days to go for the mega sporting event – the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup (HWC) 2023, hosted by Odisha at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar and the newly built Bisra Munda International Hockey Stadium in Rourkela.
The sale of paper tickets for the HWC 2023 begins on Monday (December 19), with the inaugural match scheduled on January 13, 2023. Online sale of tickets for the world cup has already commenced November 24 onwards at Paytm Insider.
Tickets can be purchased or redeemed at the Box Office, which is located at the Reserve Police Line Ground, near Gate No. 8 of the Kalinga Hockey Stadium in Bhubaneswar.
Meanwhile, fans in Rourkela can get their tickets from Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium near Gate 6 – (East & South Stand) and Gate 2- (North & West Stand).
Starting Monday, December 19, the Kalinga Hockey Stadium and Rourkela Stadium box offices will be open from 11 am – 7 pm.

The Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium has a seating capacity of over 20,000, and the Kalinga Stadium in the Capital City can accommodate over 15,000.

Every four years, at the Hockey World Cup the world’s greatest teams play some of the toughest and most entertaining international hockey. 16 top teams qualify to participate in the FIH Hockey World Cup through the Hockey World Cup Qualification Tournaments.
This will be the 15th edition of Men’s HWC which has seen 605 matches so far since the maiden tournament in 1971 which was won by Pakistan. This is the second time, Odisha, the sports capital of India will host the Hockey World Cup, with the first in 2018, clinched by Belgium.
