Bhubaneswar: The cyclonic storm ‘Michaung’ formed in the southwest Bay of Bengal is likely to make landfall between Nellore and Machalipatnam on the southern Andhra Pradesh coast at 5.00 am on Tuesday with a maximum sustained wind speed of 90 to 100 kmph and gusty winds, the India Meteorological Department said in its X handle on Sunday evening.
As per observation at 5:30 pm on Sunday ‘Michaung in the southwest Bay of Bengal is moving in a north-northwest direction at a speed of 110 kmph.
Because of the active storm in the Bay of Bengal, a number two danger code has been issued for all seaports in Odisha. The cyclone is likely to bring heavy rains in coastal Odisha, the IMD said.
