Bhubaneswar: The cyclonic storm “Michaung” (pronounced as Migjaum) over the central coast of Andhra Pradesh moved nearly northwards with a speed of 15 kmph on Tuesday night and lay centered over central coastal Andhra Pradesh about 100 km north-northwest of Bapatla weakening into a depression. The system is likely to continue to move nearly northwards in the next 6 hours and further weaken into a well-marked low-pressure area. Several regions of Odisha are likely to receive light to moderate rain/thundershowers under its influence, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Wednesday morning.
At 6:00 p.m., the deep precipitation is likely to weaken into precipitation at 11 kmph and is likely to move northward and weaken further to become a low-pressure area during the next 6 hours.

Orange warning (Be Prepared): Heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur in Malkangiri and Koraput.
Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heavy rainfall may occur in Gajapati and Ganjam.

Light to moderate rain/ thundershower is very likely in Ganajam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, and Nabarangpur.
Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heavy rainfall is likely in Ganjam, Gajapati, and Rayagada.
Day-3: (Valid from 0830 Hrs IST of 07.12.2023 to 0830 Hrs IST of 08.12.2023)
Light to moderate rain/ thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha.
Meanwhile, fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea along and off the Odisha coast adjoining the northwest Bay of Bengal and into the west-central Bay of Bengal till December 6.
