Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday warned of dense fog in one or two places over several districts of Odisha during the next three days.
The weather agency has issued ‘Yellow Warning’ for those districts. In view of IMD’s ‘Yellow Warning’ for dense fog in several districts, the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has issued an advisory to the Collectors asking police and transport officials of respective districts to take necessary steps for controlled plying of vehicles on highways during dense fog to avoid any road accident.
Further, light to moderate rain or thundershower is forecast in one or two places in some districts over the next few days.
Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 21.01.2024)
1) Light rain\thundershower is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
2) Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of coastal Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of interior Odisha.
Yellow Warning (Be updated): Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara,Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Bolangir, Sonepur, and Boudh.
Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 21.01.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 22.01.2024)
1)Light rain\thundershower is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Sundargarh and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
2) Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of south coastal Odisha and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.
Yellow Warning (Be updated): Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sonepur, Cuttack, Angul, and Bolangir.
Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 22.01.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 23.01.2024)
1)Light to Moderate rain\thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Dhenkanal, Angul and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
2) Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of South Odisha and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.
Yellow Warning (Be updated): Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam,Gajapati, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Bolangir and Kalahandi.
Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 23.01.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 24.01.2024)
Light to Moderate rain\thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Dhenkanal, Angul, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Balasore, Mayurbhanj and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 24.01.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 25.01.2024)
Light to Moderate rain\thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha, Nayagarh, Khurda, Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Dhenkanal and Dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
Day 6 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 25.01.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 26.01.2024)
Light rain\thundershower is likely to occur at one or two places over the rest districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
Day 7 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 26.01.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 27.01.2024)
Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.
The IMD has forecast that there will be no large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) during the next 4-5 days.
