Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted dense fog and cold wave conditions in several districts of Odisha over the next two days.
For December 8, a yellow warning has been issued for Sundargarh, Kandhamal, and Koraput districts, where dense fog is likely to occur at one or two places. Besides, cold wave conditions are expected to prevail in isolated pockets of Angul, Jharsuguda, Khordha, and Jagatsinghpur districts.
The IMD has also predicted similar weather conditions for December 9, with dense fog likely in Sundargarh, Kandhamal, and Koraput districts, and cold wave conditions in Angul, Jharsuguda, Khordha, and Jagatsinghpur districts.
Residents of these areas are advised to exercise caution while traveling, especially during early morning hours when visibility may be poor due to fog.
Going by IMD, Paralakhemundi recorded the highest maximum temperature of 30.2°C, while Rourkela registered the lowest minimum temperature of 7.2°C in the plains of Odisha.
