Deputy CM Pravati Parida Attends Mass Wedding Programme, Blesses 38 Newlywed Couples In Keonjhar

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Wednesday attended the district-level Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah Yojana programme organised by the Women and Child Development Department at Shankarpur Sports Complex in Keonjhar.

She blessed 38 newlywed couples during the event. During the programme, Parida reviewed the progress and implementation of several key welfare schemes. She took stock of the distribution system through face recognition, child nutrition monitoring, Subhadra Yojana, and field-level verification of applications. Detailed discussions were held on Mission Shakti, Samarthya, Shakti Sadan, and Creche services.

The ongoing awareness campaign to make the district free from child marriage was also reviewed. The Deputy Chief Minister laid special emphasis on women and child development projects being implemented under the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) Fund. She also directed officials to ensure proper rehabilitation and educational support for children living in child care institutions.

Later, Parida inspected the status of beautification and development works at major tourist destinations in the district, including Maa Tarini Mandir, Sana Ghagara and Badaghagara waterfalls. She reviewed the progress of parking facilities, walking paths, toilets, and other beautification works and instructed officials to complete all pending developmental works within the stipulated time frame while ensuring regular and quality services to tourists and beneficiaries.

She also inspected the infrastructure of Anganwadi centres, including building construction, drinking water supply, electricity connections, and toilet facilities.Keonjhar MP Anant Nayak, District Planning Committee Chairman and Telkoi MLA Dr. Fakir Mohan Naik, District Magistrate Vishal Singh, DFO and other senior officials were present on the occasion.

The Deputy Chief Minister held a detailed review meeting with officials on the progress of various ongoing developmental projects and welfare programmes in the district.
