Bhubaneswar: Thousands of devotees today thronged the Alarnath temple at Brahmagiri, around 25 km away from Puri, to have darshan of deity Alarnath Deb as the darshan of Lord Jagannath and his siblings remained closed for 15 days.
A day after the Snana Yatra, the holy trinity went into the Ansara Pindi as the deities suffered from fever. Servitors will provide treatment for a fortnight secretly.
During Anasara period, Lord Jagannath manifests himself in the form of Alarnath Deb. It is believed that devotees get blessings from the Lord after darshan of Alarnath.
During this time, scores of devotees throng the Alarnath temple to offer prayers Lord Jagannath in the form of Alarnath and relish the sacred ‘kheer’ Prasad which is offered to the God every day.
In view of a heavy congregation of devotees, the district administration has made elaborate arrangements for the smooth darshan.
