Dhenkanal: A couple from Odisha was electrocuted to death in their house in Chhattisgarh’s Korba district.
Duryodhan Mahanta and his wife Bharati, residents of Ragada Sahi under Mahabiroad police station in Dehnekanal, lived in the Adarsh Nagar locality in Korba under Kusmunda police station in Chhatisgarh.
Duryodhan worked as a driver there and was staying with the family.
Bharati was hanging washed clothes on a metal wire when electricity passed through it. Duryodhan too got electrocuted while attempting to save Bharti.
Both were rushed to a hospital where doctors declared them dead.
They have 10-year-old son, who was in the school during the tragic incident.
The bodies reached the village today after post-mortem. Family members and villagers cremated the bodies and performed last rites.
