Jharsuguda: Ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) nominee for Jharsuguda bypoll, Dipali Das has thanked Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for his trust in her and believed that she will be able to serve the people of Jharsuguda under his leadership.

“I will first thank the Chief Minister for his trust in me and his gesture towards me,” said Das in her reaction to newspersons after her being announced as the BJD’s nominee for the Jharsuguda bypoll.

She said that in the coming days, she will live up to the CM’s faith in her and uphold her father’s legacy.

“Today is a very emotional day for me as my father kept me connected with his politics for the last two years. Today as I step into the first chapter of my political career he is not there to see it. His memories haunt me but his blessings are with me,” she said.

She recollected that her father always told her that ‘service to mankind is service to God and posts and positions do not matter’.

“Today I have got a platform to serve the people and I have the Chief Minister’s hand over my head. In the coming days I will keep up to his trust in me and under his leadership aim to do something for the people of Jharsuguda,” she said.
