Bhubaneswar: Deputy Chief Minister and Minister Women & Child Development, Mission Shakti and Tourism Pravati Parida on Friday inaugurated call centre and auditorium of Mission Shakti department in the Mission Shakti Bhavan at Pokhariput here.
According to an official press release, the auditorium having a seating capacity of 400 has been built by IDCO at an expense of Rs 7.59 crore.
The auditorium will provide a large infrastructure for conducting training and skill development programmes of Self Help Groups (SHGs), in addition to holding of various meetings, workshops, cultural programmes, and launching ceremony of various products of SHGs.
This will be of great benefit to SHGs and their confederations and will play a key role in the continued development and empowerment of women’s organizations in Odisha.
That apart, Parida inaugurated the Mission Shakti Call Centre in the Mission Shakti Bhavan premises.
This Call Centre will provide information for SHGs on various plans, programmes and new steps, etc. under the Mission Shakti department.
This Call Centre will assist in resolving queries or complaints of all SHGs and their confederations. Its toll-free number (155276) will be operational on all working days from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
The Deputy Chief Minister praised the efforts and resolve of the department under the 100-day success of the Mission Shakti department, Rs 175 crore interest refund to Mission Shakti members, Rs 530 crore government business, more than 2.2 lakh Lakhpati Didis, creation of 750 producer groups, establishment of 100 Mission Shakti retail marts and for successfully meeting the target of loan disbursal of Rs 2340 crore to SHGs.
Bhubaneswar (Ekamra) MLA Babu Singh, Commissioner cum Secretary of Mission Shakti department Shalini Pandit, State Mission Director and Chief Executive Officer of Odisha Livelihood Mission, Vineet Bharadwaj, Additional Secretary Sumitra Patnaik, all senior officials of the department and IDCO were present in this programme.
