Bhubaneswar: Mother’s Day 2025 will be celebrated worldwide on May 11. Under the aegis of the Women and Child Development Department, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida has launched an innovative initiative, the “Mother’s Day Selfie Contest,” running from May 6 to May 10.
Participants are encouraged to take a selfie with their mother, write two lines expressing respect and admiration for her, and tag the Women and Child Development Department using hashtags #MoBou, #WCDOdisha, and #MothersDay. The department has requested that selfies, along with heartfelt messages, be posted on Facebook, Instagram, and X (Twitter).
The top three most touching and inspiring selfies and messages from each platform will be declared winners and awarded attractive prizes on Mother’s Day, May 11. The winners’ photos will be posted on the department’s official social media handles.
On May 11, at Ekamra Haat in Bhubaneswar, during the Mother’s Day celebration, winners can claim their prizes by presenting valid identification.
The event will also feature various fun games for mothers. Women interested in participating in these games can register at Ekamra Haat on May 11 at 3:00 PM and join the fun activities.
Winners of the games will be awarded during the event itself. The department has urged women to participate in large numbers in this program.
